Don't Fav - REPORT by Foxy-Sketches Don't Fav - REPORT by Foxy-Sketches
holy crap, i am so fed up with dumbasses faving art theft! i mean, are you really THAT stupid? are you really too damn lazy to look through the rest of someone's gallery? are you too stupid to ever READ THE ARTIST'S COMMENTS?!

i'm serious - thanks to these idiots, art theft is thriving on deviantart. how are we supposed to fight something when people are too busy thinking about how pretty the pic is to check if it's stolen or not?! educate yourself people, and help stop art theft by REPORTING, NOT FAVING!

on another note regarding myself, i try to pride myself in checking people's galleries and not just faving random pieces of art. i try my best to report any and all theft, but if you ever see a piece of art that i thought was legit and is in fact theft in my favs, let me know so i can remove it and help you get rid of the stolen work :)

use if you like (i quite recommend it) :D
comment will be disabled if they get stupid.

Just because I like a single piece of someones art does not mean I have an interest in the rest they can do. Or maybe I don't have time, and I want to go back later when I do to look at it later. Shit happens not everyone can sit on a computer 24/7 with all the time in the world.
I for one very rarely look at people I fav's gallery unless it strikes me as very very well done, and I think I might like the rest of what I see.
Its very pretentious and rude of you to call people dumbasses like that for something that could very well be a mistake.
Also you may not realize this but DA only takes art theft reports seriously if the original artist of the picture reports it. If you don't know who the original artist is there really is not much you can do.

I understand how reports on DA work - I've successfully reported art multiple times and have had conversations with those in charge of it. Also, a vast majority of the art I got removed was from people not on DA/don't know the actual artist, so never let that deter you from reporting - DA is actually very understanding about art theft :)
But generally spotting art theft simply takes common sense and doesn't involve looking through their gallery at all. When someone posts "I didn't draw this" in their description and yet thousands of people favorite it, yes - I consider those people dumbasses, and that's my opinion (especially as someone who has had their own art stolen). I'm not singling out every single absolute person, but generally people favorite art theft when it is blatantly pointed out to them that it is theft.
If my description comes off as rude, then my apologies: but it's a frustrating topic, and I get frustrated about it. It's not meant to attack you, so don't take it personally. When I created the description, I set out to generally state my opinion. Sorry it rubbed you the wrong way; I'll change it soon :)

Simply click the 'Report Deviation' button on the right side and follow the instructions (including providing a link to the original) :)

that's so frustrating - she's totally stealing art, and it's so obvious -__- unfortunately i don't recognize any of the art she's stolen as someone from DA, so i can't report it :(

i think the DA admins are actually a good job, considering all the stuff they have to go through. who needs to wise up are the users here on DA - they need to stop looking at how pretty/funny a picture is and start caring that it was stolen :(

to the left of the picture, scrolled down, is a "report deviation" button. you click it, and then click whatever applies to the piece you are reporting :)

then you can try to report them through the help desk: [link]

(btw, if you ever have any questions, DA's help and FAQ pretty much has all the answers ^^)

to the left of the picture, scrolled down, is a "report deviation" button. you click it, and then click "permission issues." you fill everything out, add the link, and send it off :D
hope that helps!

if it's a piece of art, there is a 'report deviation' button next to it on the right. if it's a person and an actually case of cyber-bullying (not just a plain 'ol troll), you can refer to this: [link]

some times it is the outher way as the rong person gets the blame but you need to check the date the art is made

other way around? do you mean "don't report and fav"? i'm a little confused ^^;

but yeah, the date can help determine art theft as well, but not always. only work if you've seen the original in the past does it work.

what if the person that theft the art said that the real one was a copy and thay get the blame, thats why you need to check the dates
